Me
Based out of Calgary, Mathew James is a hornist known for radical performance and as an advocate for new music. His training began at the University of Calgary where he completed his undergraduate degree. Following that he moved to Chicago, IL. where Mathew completed both a Masters degree with distinction and a Post-graduate certificate in performance.
Mathew has performed with orchestras in both the USA and Canada including the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony, and others. He served as the fourth horn with the Saskatoon Symphony during their 2015/2016 season. Mathew is a founding member and Artistic Director and Solo Horn of Timepoint Ensemble. Mathew currently resides in Calgary where he is an in demand teacher and performer performing with numerous groups in town including the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
